High quality data is critical to the success of Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM). There is a strategic vision across SGAM to transform the way in which data is managed through the creation of centralized data hubs. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation of our SGAM Data Hub. This will focus on centralizing and creating a single source of truth for asset management back-office and operational data, including but not limited to custodian, fund accounting, fund profile, and Morningstar data. You will also be working with business and technology partners across SGAM on new data and reporting initiatives and delivery of data quality enhancements.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
  • Design, build, and maintain the SGAM Data Hub as it supports Business and Operations needs.
  • Gather, process, and analyze complex raw data at scale.
  • Collaborate with integration teams to design and implement system integration solutions, addressing data-related challenges.
  • Develop test strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of developed solutions.
  • Interact with Business Analysts and Product Owners for requirement gathering, analysis, and user story grooming.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including test strategy documents, test case documents, and user story creation.
  • Work in close collaboration with the entire Project and BAU Support teams to ensure on-time deliverables and project milestones.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce time expenses.
  • Participate in engagement with key partners and stakeholders to understand investment data and reporting requirements and participate in design, planning, testing, and solutions delivery

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a technology, computer science, or business focus, or equivalent education and experience.
  • High level of proficiency with enterprise data management platforms. 5+ years of experience is preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with SQL server, .Net framework, Informatica, Data Stage, Talend, and MSBI, is an asset.
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps software development methodologies.
  • Previous experience with core asset management data domains (eg. positions, security reference, pricing, benchmarks, fund data, accounting data, etc.).
  • Ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with business partners and effectively communicate with both business and technology data stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
