Position: Tax Review Specialist
Type: Independent Contractor
Compensation: $50–$60/hour

Role Responsibilities
- Review a variety of U.S. tax returns, including federal and state forms and schedules.
- Extract concise insights such as filing status, income sources, and deductions/credits.
- Create verification checklists and follow-up questions to confirm accuracy or resolve ambiguity.
- Flag anomalies and edge cases like multi-state moves and amended filings.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet project demands while ensuring high-quality outputs.
Must-Have
- CPA or EA, and 4+ years of experience in U.S. individual/business tax preparation.
- Strong working knowledge of Form 1040 ecosystems and state equivalents.
- Excellent written communication skills for producing well-referenced notes and checklists.
- Detail-oriented with sound judgment on materiality, consistency, and data quality.
- Comfortable working with provided materials and following confidentiality guidelines.
- Start after a brief calibration/pilot to align on style, depth, and formatting.
