The Department of Psychology is seeking Contract Academic Staff to teach the following courses at Brandon University for the 2025–2026 academic year, Winter Term. These courses may be delivered in an online synchronous format but preference will be given to qualified candidates who will teach in person.

82:161 Introduction to Psychology: Part II: Section A03, 3 credit hours (January – April).
This course examines a series of topics in the field of psychology including human development, intelligence, personality, motivation, emotion, stress, psychological disorders, psychotherapies, and social psychology. Scheduled Tuesday 11:40 – 12:30 and Thursday 11:40 – 1:30.

82:282 ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY: Section A00, 3 credit hours (January – April).
This course examines the influence of the physical environment upon individual perception and behavior and conversely, the influence of humans on the physical environment. Some of the topics that will be discussed include environmental attitudes and appraisals, personal space, territoriality, crowding, privacy, residential environment, urban environment, natural environment, and sustainability. This course considers the personal, social, and physical factors influencing the interaction between individuals and the environment; in addition, it reviews theories that attempt to explain the interactions between humans and the environment, in relation to the topics covered within the course. Scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10:40 – 11:30.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred; a Masters’ Degree in Psychology is required. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Masters’ degree and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee at the address below on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials. Applicants should have successful teaching experience and relevant expertise in the area. Knowledge and experience with Instructional Management System (e.g., Moodle, D2L) is an asset.

Salary: $7,857.00 per 3 credit course.
