We are currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst (L1) to join our Information Technology – Distribution System team. In this role, the successful candidate is expected to gather and document requirements and act as liaison between IT and Business Stakeholders under guidance of senior team members. Our team takes great pride in developing and implementing automated solutions for our business clients.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Elicit, analyze, and understand business and data requirements to deliver comprehensive solutions to respective business units.
- Work closely with stakeholders to assess the current and future states and perform detailed gap analyses. Propose, and gain agreement on solutions.
- Set stakeholder expectations appropriately.
- Provide expert guidance with hands-on help where required to solve complex and challenging business problems to the satisfaction of key stakeholders.
- Provide support to the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project timelines
- Assist and support project team throughout the project life cycle
- Provides updates to appropriate business groups on the status of projects in progress
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance team in the definition of test cases related to the business requirements and coordinate User Acceptance Testing
- Subject matter expert on system functionality for projects assigned
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent applicable IT experience
- Understanding of end-to-end workflows within discretionary portfolio management: investment management, trade lifecycle, investment accounting and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of capital market instruments including fixed income and equities
- Knowledge of the Mutual fund industry legislation and regulations
- Must have at least 1-3 years related working experience in an IT support role, preferably in the Mutual Funds/Financial Services industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret and share complex concepts with non- technical audiences.
- Highly developed analytical and technical mindset
- Ability to multitask and manage a steady stream of priorities
- Intellectual curiosity, an eagerness to learn
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong time-management and prioritizing abilities
- Effective team player with a collaborative attitude and agile mindset
- Strong knowledge of project management methodology, both Agile and Waterfall
- SQL proficiency is an asset
