Position Overview:
The Help Desk Technician provides day-to-day technical support for staff across office and construction site environments.This role involves setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems, printers, and network equipment, as well as assisting with Office 365 administration and general IT tasks.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable supporting both office users and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, image, and deploy new desktop and laptop computers; install required software and user profiles.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on PCs, printers, and peripherals.
- Set up site trailers with computers, internet connections, printers, and other IT equipment; ensure smooth connectivity to the head office network.
- Create and manage user accounts, mailboxes, distribution lists, and licenses within Microsoft 365.
- Configure monitors, docking stations, VoIP phones, and other peripherals to ensure proper ergonomics and performance.
- Assist with small IT projects such as cable management, device inventory, system updates, and onboarding new employees.
- Log, track, and update service requests in the IT ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 1 - 3 years of experience in IT support or a help desk environment.
- Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, LAN, switches, printers).
- Experience setting up or supporting construction site trailers is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle - this role requires travel to construction sites and trailer setups.
