Power BI Developer

Role Description

The IT Power BI Developer will be reporting to the Business Applications Developer Manager on the Analytics Team. The IT Power BI Developer will work on migrating legacy reports from WebFOCUS and Oracle BI Publisher to Power BI Report Builder.

Responsibilities

Designs and develops Power BI Report Builder reports for internal BC Housing audiences

Analyzes functional requirements provided by IT Business Systems Analysts and collaborates with Business Support resources to design viable reporting solutions using Power BI Report Builder

Takes on all aspects of report development life cycle, including design, development, unit testing, system testing, UAT support and remediation, deployment and post-deployment support

Provide input to further develop client’s Power BI reporting standards and framework

Qualifications

Ideal candidate must-have:

• A recognized degree/ certificate in Computer Science or MIS or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 4 years of experience with Power BI Report Builder
• Excellent report and dashboard design and development skills, UX/UI skills and data analysis skills
• Demonstrated superior analytical, problem solving and judgement skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and able to manage simultaneous priorities, pressures, and deadlines
• Be able to provide samples or portfolio of Power BI Report Builder reports developed
  
  

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

• 2 to 4 years of experience of developing Power BI dashboards
• Experience working with WebFOCUS or Oracle BI Publisher
• Demonstrated business analyst skills and has experience working directly with business users
• Experience working for public or non-profit agencies is an asset.
