About the Opportunity
Nova Scotia Health (NSH) provides sustainable safe and high quality health services that are accessible, people-centered, promote health and wellness, and optimize the health of all Nova Scotian’s. This is accomplished across four management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centers and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and community based programs and services, including mental health and addictions, primary health care, public health, and continuing care.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for facilitating the day to day operations of the Environmental Services, Laundry Services, and Porter Services for NSH as well as ensuring a clean, safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors. The Assistant Manager collaborates with Manager in the planning and development of standardized practices and initiatives to ensure they are operationalized.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- At least two years supervisory experience is required; experience within a health care setting is preferred.
- Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in the theories and principles of cleaning methods, practices and techniques; experience with Occupational Health and Safety principles and WHMIS is required.Required to answer calls and respond to emails and possibly come in to work outside of normal working hours.
- Shift work may be required.
- Travel to other sites is required and must have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent Part-time position; 45 hours biweekly;
- Shifts are Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3pm-11pm.
Compensation and Benefits
$30.50 - $38.13 Hourly
