The Opportunity As Branch Manager, you will own end-to-end leadership of the Nova Scotia branch office, shop, and field, ensuring safe operations, exceptional delivery, and strong financial performance across a diverse steel product and systems portfolio.
What you'll lead
Safety and Culture
Champion a Safety First culture across office, shop, and field operations.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety rules, regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Business Operations and P&L
- Full P&L responsibility for branch performance: production, quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. You will be an insuring leader driving culture as well as performance branding.
- Direct supervisors, foremen, and teams in day-to-day operations to meet volume, cost, and quality targets.
Market and Customer Leadership
- Assess market conditions, competitive dynamics, and the contracting landscape across Nova Scotia.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and the local construction community.
- Commercial Growth
- Partner with Sales to shape branch-level commercial, marketing, sales, and bidding strategies.
- Grow supply-and-install packages across reinforcing steel, joists/decking, metal building systems, and related product lines.
- Collaborate with regional peers to maximize outcomes for the broader business.
- People and Performance
- Set clear expectations, coach and develop talent, delegate effectively, and provide timely feedback.
- Identify and mentor future leaders; foster an accountable, inclusive, high-performance culture.
- Governance and Execution
- Align branch plans with regional strategy and Our Clients mission and values.
- Implement company policies and operational directives with discipline and consistency.
What you bring
Must-haves
*Eligibility to work in Canada, without need of sponsorship or visa.
- 10+ years in steel products, fabrication, reinforcing steel, building systems, or closely related construction/manufacturing environments.
- 5+ years in supervisory and/or department/branch leadership with proven P&L responsibility.
- Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and operational problem-solving.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and team leadership skills; highly organized and detail-oriented.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelors degree or equivalent business/operations training.
- 5+ years in the construction sector (field, engineering, or related products).
- Knowledge of labour relations and industrial regulations/standards.
- Safety credentials (e.g., OSHA 300 or applicable Canadian/provincial equivalents).
- Experience driving continuous improvement and project-based operational upgrades.
