As a Manager, Credit Risk, Retail Credit Risk, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating benefits for credit strategies, customers, and the bank. Leveraging enterprise-level data management tools and advanced analytics, you’ll collaborate closely with Global Risk teams, business lines, Digital Banking, and IT. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing credit risk strategies, exploring ideas to enhance retail lending portfolios within risk appetite thresholds, and identifying opportunities for innovative credit offers based on risk-reward frameworks and the GRM’s digital strategy. This role demands solid programming skills (SAS, SQL, Python), rigorous logical thinking, communication, curiosity, and strong teamwork abilities. You will operate at the intersection of math/stats, computer science, and domain knowledge in Risk Management, Finance, or Marketing. Additionally, you will work towards various strategic initiatives, participate in the risk-reward strategy development, driving innovation and digital transformation across the Bank and Global Risk Management.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate credit lifecycle strategies (e.g. credit origination, account management) and portfolio performance, partnering with business partners to deliver actionable insights and tactical recommendations that enhance program effectiveness and portfolio profitability.
  • Lead strategy design thinking with business partners, subject matter experts, and external consultants. Enhance risk-reward predictions, customer segmentation, credit limits, risk-based pricing, and fraud detection across the full credit lifecycle (e.g., credit origination, account management, collections).
  • Leverage advanced analytics and AI/ML tools to analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured non-traditional data, developing innovative credit solutions and policies to support growth and strategic optimization in the Caribbean market.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior management on portfolio insights, strategy enhancements, and ad-hoc analyses. Monitor key performance indicators for scalable deployment in an agile and rapid environment.
  • Collaborate with Toronto and local business partners to ensure business strategies implemented across life cycle are consistent with the Risk Appetite Framework.

Skills

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in a relevant STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
  • Proficiency in big data tools and programming languages (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python)
  • Experience with data visualization tools, with a preference for Power BI.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of structured and unstructured non-traditional data.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to connect stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical knowledge into business value.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven working experience in statistical analysis and/or statistical modeling roles (preferred in retail, financial, and digital industries)
