We are looking to hire a HSE, Field Advisor based out of our Grande Prairie branch.
The HSE Field Advisor is responsible for ensuring that CDN’s Safety Program and clients’ safety specifications are being met and adhered to, while providing knowledge and HSE guidance to the employees on site to minimize the potential hazards and risks associated to the work being completed on site.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep current with Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, client directive, client construction standards and procedures, and industry best practices.
- Provide guidance to employees and contractors with HSE procedures and inform them of new legislation and OHS regulations.
- Conduct worksite orientations as required for client representatives, sub-contractors, visitors, and industry representatives attending the worksites.
- Facilitate worksite safety meetings, training drills, and conduct worksite HSE observations, audits, and inspections.
- Take ownership and collaborate with the Project Management Team and HSE Services to ensure corrective actions from incidents, inspections, observations and employee observations are corrected in a timely manner.
- Attend operations meetings to ensure upcoming project safety and environmental requirements are in place and take accountability to complete Project Safety Plans prior to commencement.
- Provide site representation to projects requiring additional monitoring for critical high hazard or environmentally sensitive worksites.
- Develop site specific Emergency Response Plans and execute mock drills to ensure the crew on site understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Perform safety equipment checks and replenishing supplies as needed for: first aid kits, spill kits, fire extinguishers, and fire protection equipment.
- Assist with COR and project specific HSE audits at CDN worksite locations and prepares reports as directed.
- Assist with incident investigations and reporting, including transporting injured/sick workers to medical facilities.
- Transfer HSE field level documentation between site crews, head office operations, and various regional branches.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Related post-secondary certificate (COHS) and typically 3 – 5 years of related HSE experience, or combination of formal education and experience.
- NCSO designation is an asset.
- Valid H2S, First Aid Level C- CPR & AED, CSTS, and CSO.
- Valid class 5 license with a clean drivers abstract.
