The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for supporting all accounting functions, maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures while preparing US GAAP compliant financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for supporting all accounting functions, maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures while preparing US GAAP compliant financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Preparing quarterly financial statements and notes which includes consolidated balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, individual subsidiary financial statements;
- Managing the Company’s financial statement reporting system by editing and maintaining the Company’s chart of accounts and consolidation reporting;
- Monitoring changes in accounting standards and help co-ordinate implementation of new standards;
- Preparing financial analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts;
- Assisting with the annual budget and quarterly forecast process;
- Manage Financial Accounting services, including financial statements and reporting, reconciliations, closing balances and tracking of capital projects;
- Complete financial reports monthly;
- Ensure quarterly forecast package is complete by the agreed deadlines with follow-up questions addressed by the team;
- Oversee preparation of year-end financial statements and corresponding with external auditors;
- Manage the corporate tax and commodity return preparation process to ensure that taxes are being accurately recorded and filed by the regulatory filing deadlines;
- Manage the implementation of new or revised accounting practices and procedures for reporting;
- Monitor processes and procedures for internal controls required to support the delivery of accurate financial results;
- Ability to perform ad hoc projects in support of the CFO, including the preparation and tracking of government grants and subsidies;
- Work as a team with all members of the finance team to deliver executive and board level output on a regular basis;
- Other duties, as assigned by the CFO.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written with the ability to work with a variety of people in a team environment;
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail to research and escalate issues;
- Strong computer and reporting skills with an advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Word;
- Detail oriented and team player;
- Problem-solver;
- A minimum of 5 years professional work experience with a minimum of 2 years leadership experience;
- Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation, corporate taxes, budgeting and forecasting, with US GAAP experience being an asset;
- Demonstrated initiative in recognizing efficiencies and implementing process improvement initiatives;
- Solid organizational and time management skills;
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Management, Commerce or Accounting/Finance;
- Designated Accountant.
