The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Junior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Finance and Operations departments with forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis. You will play a critical role in providing valuable insights, analysis, and financial expertise to drive informed decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career to gain hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while contributing to strategic business decisions.
You’ll work closely with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to support financial planning processes, analyze performance trends, and help drive operational efficiency across the organization.
This position is based in Calgary and offers a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days per week in-office.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with business units to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
- Help maintain and improve financial models and reporting tools.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data and reporting.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (internships or co-op experience welcome).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial systems or BI tools is a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and basic accounting principles.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present and explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
