Job Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the Applications Functional Analyst III has a significant role in enhancing and supporting our SAP ECC (Enterprise Central Component) Finance module. This position is responsible for partnering with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver effective finance solutions, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to large-scale projects.


This position is fully remote with the main hub being our Calgary Support Office.


Responsibilities:

  • Functional Expertise: Serve as the primary SAP ECC Finance expert, specializing in areas such as GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Controlling, and Credit Management modules.
  • Solution Development: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design, and deliver SAP ECC finance solutions that meet operational and strategic objectives.
  • System Configuration: Configure and enhance SAP ECC Finance modules to support business requirements, ensuring that solutions are optimized for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Project Support: Act as a functional lead for finance-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, enhancements, and new implementations, and work closely with project managers, developers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements within SAP ECC Finance modules and actively engage in implementing enhancements to improve business processes.
  • Testing and Validation: Lead and coordinate testing efforts for finance module changes, ensuring that solutions meet requirements and are thoroughly tested before deployment.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures, and provide training to end-users and support staff as needed.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with finance and IT stakeholders to drive alignment on priorities, share insights, and deliver finance solutions that support business growth.


Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with SAP ECC Finance modules, including experience with configurations and support of GL, AP, AR, Asset Management, Controlling and Sales and Distribution.
  • Strong working knowledge of Finance and Accounting systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in SAP FICO data structures, tables, and financial reporting requirements.
  • ABAP and/or BI experience a plus.
  • Solid understanding of SAP FI/CO integration with other modules (SD, MM, HR).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA Finance certification is a plus.
  • Experience working in a large-scale enterprise environment with complex business processes.
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA is beneficial.
