Project Coordinator

Summary

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team at our head office in Parry Sound, on beautiful Georgian Bay. This role is ideally suited for a recent graduate from a construction-related program in Ontario who is eager to learn construction project management from the ground up. This entry-level position provides excellent opportunities for ongoing training, professional growth, and long-term career development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and controlling project activities
  • Prepare and organize project documentation
  • Review contract specifications to ensure compliance
  • Monitor budgets and ensure project costs remain within scope
  • Optimize use of manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Award subcontracts and follow up on documentation requirements
  • Prepare monthly progress billing draws
  • Compile manuals and warranty documentation at project close-out
  • Support estimating and project management tasks as required
  • Provide assistance to the Construction Manager and Project Managers
  • Travel to project sites as needed (own transportation preferred but not required)
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Certified Engineering Technologist, Architectural Technician, or graduate of a construction-related program (Ontario, accredited college/university)
  • 1-3 years of hands-on construction experience (school placements acceptable)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and fully understand drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with Microsoft Project (Gantt Charts, WBS, Resource Management)
  • Ability to process and mark up documents in Adobe
  • Health & Safety (JHSC) training provided; prior experience is an asset
  • Valid driver's licence in good standing
  • Willingness to live and work in the Parry Sound area
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within a hands-on, general contracting environment
