Key Responsibilities

  • Complete daily fleet spot check inspections.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain productivity reports for all equipment inspections and onsite compliance testing.
  • Ensure all safety and job paperwork is completed in a timely fashion by fleet drivers.
  • Identify and recommend more cost-effective methods for fleet maintenance.
  • Ensure there are proper tools & fittings for drivers.
  • Mentor and train all new drivers.
  • Conduct and document on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Lead in identifying and evaluating hazards, hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
  • Conduct incident investigations as required.
  • Facilitate or schedule training on all pieces of equipment.
  • Issue practical training for new processes that are introduced.
  • Update SOP’s for all Fleet procedures.
  • Lead by example and ensure safety is followed and maintained.
  • Ensure adherence of employees to GFL’s Safety Policies.

Knowledge, Skills And Key Compentencies

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (Clear Language Edition).
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
  • Standard First Aid / CPR.
  • AZ driver’s license.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Proficient in the use of basic computer programs.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Chemical and/or chemistry experience.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling and organizational skills.
  • Able to analyze and solve problems independently.
