Your Role

This is your chance to dive into a complex, large-scale system and make a tangible impact. You will:

• Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of new features for the Real-Time team.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team including product and customer success to understand user pain points and help improve their experience.
• Learn and Grow by working alongside senior engineers who are committed to mentoring you.
• Take Action to help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system bottlenecks.
• Ensure Quality by writing clean, tested code and participating in team code reviews.
• Stay Curious by exploring new technologies and industry trends to help drive innovation within the team.

Your Experience

• You have 1-2 years of professional software development experience or can demonstrate equivalent skill through impactful personal projects or internships. We're interested in what you can do, not just where you've been.
• You have a foundational understanding of backend engineering principles, perhaps through using a relational database, message queues, or building APIs, and you're eager to apply and deepen this knowledge on our real-time platform.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure and a curiosity for building applications with event driven or serverless patterns.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfort working in an agile, collaborative environment with teams in different time zones.
• High verbal and written English proficiency.

Physical Requirements

This role is remote, based in Vancouver, BC. While we have an office, at this time there is no requirement to work on-site. As we grow, we may introduce a hybrid policy.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel up to 5% for offsites, conferences, or customer site visits.
