Overview
SRC’s Rare Earth Element Division is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student to help support the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations for SRC’s Rare Earth Processing Facility. This position is open to a 12 or 16-month term, starting May 2026.

As an Engineering Student Assistant in the REE Processing Facility, I had the opportunity to collaborate with multiple disciplines, including the amazing Construction team. During my time here, I’ve gained a wealth of technical knowledge and hands-on engineering experience that has greatly contributed to my professional growth. The workplace environment at SRC has been exceptionally supportive, with everyone always willing to guide and assist me whenever needed. As my first role in the industry, this position has provided me with learning opportunities and practical experience far beyond my expectations when I first applied. I am extremely happy and deeply grateful to SRC for giving me this opportunity.

Overview
SRC’s Rare Earth Element Division is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student to help support the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations for SRC’s Rare Earth Processing Facility. This position is open to a 12 or 16-month term, starting May 2026.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to piping and mechanical design deliverables for the REE Facility
- Collaborate with the project team, including frequent communication and daily collaboration
- Assist senior engineers and designers with checking engineering deliverables, quality reviews and participating in construction and commissioning support activities including site visits, inspection, overseeing equipment testing, maintenance and installation
- Third year mechanical engineering student enrolled in the University of Saskatchewan Engineering Co-operative Internship Program
- Strong understanding of best practices for quality work and workplace safety
- Team player with effective interpersonal, communication, multitasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to self-motivate and take initiative in non-supervised work
- Exceptional organizational skills
