MKS Financial Services, located in Regina, Saskatchewan, is known for helping protect the financial well-being of families, businesses, and employees. We are looking to add one (1) Associate Advisor to our team. We are looking for someone proactive and detail-oriented with great communication skills and a drive for delivering an exceptional client experience. As a member of the team, you will need to have strong relationship-building skills, and a drive for continual improvement for yourself and client services.
The primary focus of the Associate Advisor is to increase sales, expand the business, and enhance client services. This entails actively prospecting for new clients, as well as meeting with existing clientele, and leading them through the financial planning process. This role has minimal administrative duties and is accountable to the principal advisor.
The Key Responsibilities For This Role Include
New Client Acquisition
Actively prospect new Ideal Clients to grow client base
Identify and co-ordinate prospective marketing activities and sales opportunities within the client base and outside the client base (e.g. referral/introduction strategies)
Identify opportunities to introduce others on the team
Gather referrals/introductions
Obtain notes (email or handwritten) of introduction to new prospects
Make a phone call or other connection to new prospects
Meet with prospects for an initial review
Introduce our services and the value of our team
Review your process and what the prospect can expect next in the process
Determine next steps and set next appointment (if moving forward)
Attend networking events
Identify prospects within own personal networks (natural market)
Develop strong relationships with Centre of Influences (e.g. Mortgage Broker, CPA, and etc.)
Other marketing activities such as attending client events, tradeshows, and etc.
Financial Planning
Explain issues and concepts related to the overall financial planning process
Conduct in-depth reviews of clients' financial circumstances, current situation and future goals
Determine goals and expectations
Gather and input client data into financial planning software
Understand and interpret financial data
Clarify client financial status and identify problem areas and opportunities
Analyze information and prepare plans best suited to individual clients' requirements
Complete risk analysis
Design financial strategies
Assist clients to make informed decisions
Research and compile information
Prepare potential solutions and draft proposals
Develop and present financial plan
Motivate prospect/client to take action to implement solutions (insurance, investments, and etc.)
Review and respond to clients changing needs and financial circumstances
Communicate with other professionals, such as accountants, lawyers re client situations
Client Service & Relationship Management (Client Experience)
Accountable for maintaining the required meeting schedule and number of appointments with clients based on activity goals and service standards set for each advisor by the team (from existing block of clients and new prospects)
Proactively meet with active clients'/schedule client meetings
Manage own schedule
Provide planning and solutions to current and prospective clients
Provide exceptional relationship attention and service to all clients
Leverage the principal advisor's time so they may focus on their ideal and top clients
Develop and implement strategies to move clients from one segmentation category to another (e.g. Passive and Unknown categories to Active and Growth).
Support relationship strategies with prospects and Centre of Influences.
Product Solutions
Follow through of Financial Planning by implementation of product solutions
Understand documents that describe various financial instruments
Recommend and explain different types of product solutions to clients and guide them to choose the most appropriate solution for their situation
Identify cross-planning opportunities
Investments - analyze portfolios, prepare reviews, track top funds/portfolios developed by advisors using appropriate tools
Insurance - life, mortgage, critical illness, disability and long-term care
Group Benefits - for businesses, companies and associations; retirement options; and health management solutions
Retirement
Estate Creation and Preservation
Tax Strategies
Debt Management
Review meeting notes as they pertain to Investments and determine actions to be taken and target dates
Oversight of all trades for client accounts - purchases, redemptions, switches/conversions
Attend information sessions hosted by product suppliers
Maintain proper documentation following preset guidelines/compliance
Skills/Requirements
CFP or QAFP. Dual license of Mutual Fund and Life licenses preferred
Ability to motivate others to make a decision and take action (sales ability)
Demonstrated analytical abilities
Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential
Strong organizational, time management, communication and priority setting skills in order to meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task and be flexible while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work independently but also a strong team player
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to clearly explain the financial services you can provide to potential clients
Experience With SalesForce Is An Asset, But Not Required
Ability to listen to and understand clients' financial goals and provide recommendations
Ability to think critically and evaluate all the data available to help clients meet their goals
A desire to help people plan for the future is important
