Job Summary

Our Client, an established Canadian manufacturer in the industrial sector is seeking a results-driven Plant Manager to oversee all aspects of daily plant operations. This position plays a key leadership role in optimizing production performance, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will guide cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence while maintaining a positive, safety-focused workplace culture.

The Role

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Plan, organize, and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with organizational objectives and growth plans.
  • Manage budgets, production schedules, and staffing plans to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective operations.
  • Oversee workforce management, training, and development to promote engagement and accountability across teams.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to sustain continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards while chairing or supporting safety committees.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments such as Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to improve workflow and output.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to enhance plant performance and operational consistency.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility throughout the facility.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, ideally in an environment managing a 24hr multiple shift facility
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive measurable improvements in productivity and quality.
  • Strong knowledge of production management, inventory control, and process optimization.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with experience leading safety programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels.
  • Demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Skilled in strategic planning, resource allocation, and performance management.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, business, or a related discipline is an asset.
