As the Team Lead, Analytics Engineering, you will lead and execute on Hiive’s data initiatives through a critical growth period, mentoring and guiding the Analytics Engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on across our data stack. You will promote collaboration and culture within our Vancouver office, driving both technical excellence and an energetic, in-person team environment.

As the Team Lead, Analytics Engineering, you will lead and execute on Hiive’s data initiatives through a critical growth period, mentoring and guiding the Analytics Engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on across our data stack. You will promote collaboration and culture within our Vancouver office, driving both technical excellence and an energetic, in-person team environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Would Include
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of analytics engineers
- Remain hands-on across our data stack, blending IC work with requirements gathering, code reviews, and data modeling. Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Oversee the activation of data for business operations across automated marketing, operational alerting, and downstream operational systems.
- Manage self-serve business intelligence data products that help deliver insights across every aspect of the business at both a strategic business level and tactical day-to-day work.
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making, collaboration, and innovation — both within the data team and across the Vancouver office.
- Proven experience as a senior leader on a data team.Hands-on technical experience with modern data stack tools, Snowflake, dbt, ETL, and business intelligence tools (Omni preferred).
- Strong SQL and data modeling capabilities, with a focus on data integrity and performance.
- Experience with marketing, financial, product, and operational data reporting.
- Understanding of data governance, compliance, and best practices for data quality.
- Track record of fostering positive, in-person team culture and collaboration.
- Enthusiasm for being an active part of the Vancouver office, promoting connection, mentorship, and high performance.
- Technical experience in data science and product analytics.
- Experience in financial markets or fintech environments.
