Responsibilities

The finance clerk will support Pape Salter Teillet LLP’s finance department and will be responsible for assisting the firm’s Financial Controller with various accounting and administrative tasks. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, statements
  • Enter financial data transactions in PCLaw
  • Assist with payables and receivables
  • Assist with monthly expense processes
  • Provide back-up to the Financial Controller for various accounting and clerical duties
  • Provide assistance, and support to firm personnel with financial issues, including receipt and expense tracking and travel arrangements
  • Support with numerous annual Law Society and LAWPRO payments and renewals
  • Create new matters - update client matter list, cross reference number list, create/setup printer codes, create conflict check
  • Various other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize projects, manage workload, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and resourceful
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Experience with PCLaw is an asset

Position will be hybrid (blend of in-office and remote) with an anticipated annual compensation of $50,000 - $55,000 per year, plus benefits.
