Senior Geotechnical Engineer


Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and be proficient in various aspects of geotechnical analysis, design, and project management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and challenging infrastructure projects with an industry leading team of engineers and technicians.




Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion

  • Analyze and interpret geotechnical data to develop comprehensive site characterization reports

  • Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, foundation design, retaining wall design, and seismic hazard assessments

  • Develop and review geotechnical design recommendations for various structures, including buildings, bridges, dams, and tunnels

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and design drawings

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, geologists, and environmental specialists

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians

  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in all project work

  • Develop and maintain client relationships, including participating in business development activities

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's geotechnical engineering practices and procedures

  • Represent the company at professional conferences and industry events

  • Participate in proposal writing and project pursuits




Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering; Master's degree preferred

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering

  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license required

  • Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and foundation engineering

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring junior staff

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

  • Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
