The Senior Manager, Data & Insights, plays an important role in Scotiabank’s GrowQC strategy. Their mandate is to partner with various stakeholder groups across the organization to develop and deploy a comprehensive analytics strategy for the Quebec market. Responsibilities include supporting the budgeting and expense management process, leveraging insights to increase cross-business referrals, monitoring market and competitive trends, and building performance management measurement tools and reporting.
This position supports the Quebec market and contributes to enhancing the overall quality of data-driven decision-making and client-centric strategies.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with Finance partners to prepare annual budget and quarterly forecast for Quebec.
- Provide commentary and insight into variances and factors impacting business performance to help executive understand the drivers of variances month/month, quarter/quarter, year/year and versus Plan.
- Partner with corporate functions teams at head office and business lines based in Quebec to conduct reviews of referral tracking processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Consolidate referrals tracking and create leadership dashboard and action plan.
- Pro-actively identify ways to improve cross-sell between business units and drive client primacy.
- Partner with business lines and reporting & analytics team to document successes and understand trends / roadblocks to increase cross-sell, in order to suggest mitigation tactics.
- Turn data into insights by identifying new revenue opportunities, reduced costs and improved operational efficiencies.
- Supports the Head of Strategy, Grow QC in the information gathering process and analysis for strategic and tactical projects and ad-hoc requests by Senior management.
- Build and reinforce effective partnerships and collaboration within the Scotia Finance Community and across the Bank.
- Build data visualization dashboards, quarterly initiative status updates, and other Program reporting materials
- Provide insights on market share and competitive positioning to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct strategic analyses looking at the organization’s internal and external environment, including market trends, competition and customer needs to identify opportunities and threats
- Investigate and resolve financial data-related issues, working with technical Finance teams to implement fixes.
- Develop new data feedback tools and leverage existing ones to gain insights on trends and impact of initiatives (NPS, surveys, data, etc.).
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, data science, computer science or related field
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, in French and English.
- Strategically influence multiple stakeholder groups by fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and innovation, and a shared ambition to deliver growth in Quebec.
- Expert knowledge of data analytics and project management notions, acquired through a combination of theoretical training and practical experience.
- Excellent mastery of Excel and Power Point and Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Effective strategic thinking, design, delivery capabilities, organizational know-how and influencing are critical for success for this role.
- Experience in a complex matrix-operating organization and highly regulated industry as well as good knowledge of Banking / Wealth Management products and services is desirable.
