Some Of What You Will Do

An opportunity to own both product and vendor quality assurance for the Staples CAD Brands team! Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to both create and manage the appropriate protocols required to support and enforce effective product development and manufacturing, this role is an exciting one for someone who is enthusiastic about building and refining new processes while ensuring they maintain keeper status of compliance and regulatory standards.

The purpose of this job is to use expert knowledge of QA process and protocol creation, and skilled collaboration with team members to deliver products with full traceability of supply that meet development timelines for launch. In conjunction with the creation of protocols and testing standard requirements, you will also be able to stand up the required record keeping, and decide how to appropriately share our records with key stakeholders within the business such as our Customer Care and Legal teams. Building the requirements that ensure vendor capability and compliance from our partners and manufacturing facilities in its infancy stages is what makes this role unique, as you will be a part of building the new future of Own Brands at Staples Canada.

Specifically, You Will

  • QA Protocol Development – Creates and manages testing protocols and onboarding processes for vendors and manufacturing facilities.
  • Product Compliance Oversight – Ensures all products meet regulatory and safety standards; leads investigations and resolution of complaints or nonconformance.
  • Vendor Audits & Accreditation – Establishes and maintains third-party audit processes to ensure vendor compliance and facility accreditation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Works with Legal, Customer Care, Product Managers, and external partners to manage risk and ensure smooth product development.
  • Ongoing Quality Checks – Schedules and manages quality checks for in-market products to ensure continued compliance and performance.

Some Of What You Need

  • Post Secondary education in Quality Assurance or similar field
  • 4-7 years of experience in Consumer Goods manufacturing environments, GMP standards and QA/QC protocols used throughout manufacturing process
  • Expert experience knowledge in interpreting output reports, factory audits, certifications, and CAP requirements, and identifying areas for rectification or action, including an understanding of how different third-party testing facilities work
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to weigh risk-based data with consumer experience at the core of your decision making, and the expert ability to identify root causes and know how to rectify an achievable time sensitive solution
  • Skilled in establishing new systems and workflows, balancing innovation with meticulous adherence to compliance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with many internal and external partners with the utmost professionalism and problem-solving approach with minimal supervision
