Job Synopsis
The Production Manager is the driving force behind maintaining and modeling a high level of customer service through training and mentoring volunteers and staff. Ensuring the flow of inventory from the workroom to the retail floor, the Production Manager will work with the Volunteer Coordinator to train, schedule and supervise production volunteers, consulting with the Thrift Shop Operations Manager and other staff to plan special events and seasonal displays.
The Production Manager is a member of the Lethbridge MCC Thrift Management team which assists and supports the Thrift Shop Operations Manager in operating and managing the shop.

- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- May require >6 hours of intermittent standing or walking in a workday.
- Valid AB Driver’s License
- Communicate MCC mission and values and mission of the Thrift Shop in a positive manner to staff, volunteers, donors, and the community at large.
- Attend MCCA functions as required.

- Model reconciliation and haling in our daily actions with staff, volunteers, customers, and donors.
- Create a positive experience in all interaction points with the customers, donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Support the staff team as needed to meet the demands of daily operations.
- Assist with special events and projects as needed.
- Oversee all processing of donations from receiving to the retail floor.
- Develop strategies to grow production numbers.
- Set daily and weekly production targets for each department and take responsibility for reaching those targets.
- In conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator, provide support, supervision, training and scheduling to production volunteers.
- Provide active, hands-on support to volunteers with creating a calm and fun atmosphere.
- Have scheduled tasks and plans ready for staff and volunteers.
- Oversee inventory as it relates to retail space, including color rotation and seasonal storage/rollout.
- Monitor workroom supplies (packing supplies, tags, tape, garbage bags, labels, etc.), always ensuring adequate inventory.
- Maintain a supply of priced items to replenish the sales floor.
- Assess processing floor layout and change as needed.
- Work closely with the Management Team on in-store sales, featured items and seasonal displays.
- Work closely with the staff to facilitate retailing of items, maintaining control of incoming donations and assessing production volumes as needed.
Management Team Responsibilities
- Be proactive in promoting positive public, staff and client relations
- Ability to handle customer, donor and volunteer questions, concerns and conflicts in a professional manner
- Provide back-up support for other managers in their absence or as needed, including opening and closing of shop
- Assist with Social Media posts (Instagram & Facebook)
- Together with the Management Team, develop strategies to meet revenue and sales targets in your areas of focus
- Work with the Management Team in the operation of the shop to ensure teamwork and a desirable working and shopping environment
- All Management Team members are expected to attend MCCA and Thrift Shop events, including volunteer appreciation events
Health & Safety
- Adhere to Health & Safety Guidelines as established by law and the organization
- Be proactive in maintaining clean workspaces that meet health & safety standards
- Assist with maintaining and coordinating the staff / volunteer room
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Maintain a high level of integrity, reflecting Christian respect and Christ's unconditional love to those with whom you work, including colleagues, partner agencies, the homeless and marginalized
- Answer inquiries about MCC from constituency and public; communicate MCC's values.
- Model nonviolent peacemaking through respectful daily interactions with staff and the pub

Challenges: This role requires high energy, and the incumbent must be flexible. This role works very closely with the Thrift Shop Operations Manager and acts as the Manager in his/her absence. This role requires extended periods of time being on their feet, heavy lifting, climbing ladders and stocking items above shoulder height.
Location Description
Lethbridge is the commercial, financial, transportation and industrial center of southern Alberta. The city's economy developed from drift mining for coal in the late 19th century and agriculture in the early 20th century. Half of the workforce is employed in the health, education, retail and hospitality sectors, and the top five employers are government-based. The only university in Alberta south of Calgary is located in Lethbridge, and two of the three colleges in southern Alberta have campuses in the city. Cultural venues in the city include performing art theatres, museums and sports centers.
