What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Surveyor at VanPile, you’ll play a key role in supporting our marine and heavy civil construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

• Survey pile locations, batter orientations, and structure elevations using GPS and total station equipment
• Draft and interpret pre-construction and as-built drawings in AutoCAD; prepare detailed reports
• Support dredging and construction activities with topographic and bathymetric data collection using singlebeam, multibeam, and LiDAR systems
• Prepare and coordinate field equipment and logistics for daily operations
• Collaborate with project teams to meet construction goals and timelines
• Uphold VanPile’s commitment to Health, Safety & Environment standards

What You’ll Bring:

• Diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in heavy civil or marine construction
• Proficiency in GPS and total station surveying
• Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is an asset)
• Strong technical and computer skills
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to work safely and effectively in all weather conditions

Assets:

• Hydrographic survey experience using singlebeam, multibeam, and LiDAR systems
• Bathymetric data processing experience using HYPACK software
• Experience with Trimble equipment
• Small boat operation experience
• Mechanical aptitude

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary range: $70k-$90k per annum
• Competitive base salary with performance bonus eligibility.
