Mixed-Use, Multi-Family & Community Projects

Vancouver, BC

Technical Excellence. Collaborative Studio. Real Ownership.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 (based on experience)

About The Firm

This Vancouver studio delivers well-crafted multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, and community projects across the Lower Mainland. The team is known for clear detailing, efficient delivery, and a hands-on approach with clients, consultants, and contractors. The culture is practical, supportive, and growth-oriented, with senior leaders who stay close to the work and value initiative and accountability.

Why Join This Team?

You’ll step into a role with real autonomy on active projects, not a back-office drafting seat. Expect direct client and consultant exposure, trust to run coordination, and mentorship from the senior staff and principals. The studio offers the best of both worlds: the nimbleness of a tight-knit office and the steady pipeline of repeat private-sector work.

About The Role

Our client is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Technologist for a Job Captain role, to drive technical delivery from design development through construction. You will lead Revit production, coordinate with consultants and authorities, and communicate directly with clients and contractors. This is an excellent fit for someone who is technically advanced in Revit, comfortable running meetings, and confident moving work forward independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Revit models, drawings, and documentation from DD through IFC, including permit and tender packages
  • Own day-to-day coordination with structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty consultants
  • Prepare and review technical details, assemblies, building envelope interfaces, and specifications
  • Manage revisions, QA/QC, clash resolution, and drawing standards across the project team
  • Interface with clients, attend coordination and site meetings, track actions, and report progress
  • Support construction phase services including RFIs, shop drawings, SIs/CCNs, field reviews, and deficiency tracking
  • Ensure compliance with BCBC, VBBL, and municipal processes including submissions and responses
  • Mentor junior staff on best practices in documentation, detailing, and Revit workflows

Qualifications

  • Architectural Technology diploma or equivalent; additional education an asset
  • 6–12 years of experience in an architecture practice with a focus on technical delivery
  • Intermediate to advanced Revit proficiency, including familiarity with families, worksharing, and BIM standards
  • Strong knowledge of BCBC, VBBL, and municipal approvals; familiarity with wood-frame and concrete construction
  • Proven experience producing coordinated CD sets and leading consultant and client coordination
  • Clear written and verbal communication with the ability to run meetings and drive decisions
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently while collaborating in a team environment

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with level and scope of responsibility
  • Extended health and dental benefits, plus paid time off
  • Hybrid work model with in-office collaboration and flexibility
  • Professional development support and a clear path to broader project leadership
  • A practical, mentorship-forward culture that values initiative, accountability, and crisp delivery

If you’re ready to take ownership of technical delivery while building long-term client and consultant relationships, I’d love to hear from you.
