Our Ottawa based client is looking for Accounting Manager, Complex Accounting will report to the Senior Manager, Complex Accounting and lead the Accounts Receivable function, oversee revenue accounting, and manage inventory and related costs associated with Winnipeg & Ottawa Plant Operations and Ottawa Refinery Operations. The role ensures accurate reporting in the financial control system and leads a team of ~2–3. for a long term HYBRID contract.

- Own monthly/quarterly close activities for A/R, Revenue, PP&E, and Inventory (JEs, balance sheet recs, ad-hoc analysis).
- Provide direction and ongoing leadership to a small team handling A/R, PP&E, and Inventory accounting.
- Review customer contract summaries to ensure correct IFRS treatment (incl. IFRS 15).
- Develop/maintain policies & procedures for Inventory, Capital Assets, A/R, and Revenue aligned to IFRS.
- Liaise with Operating Plants & Refinery to improve processes/systems; ensure internal controls and assess risks.
- Manage precious metal accounting policy and reconciliation process.
- Oversee customer invoicing & credit limits; partner with Treasury & Sales for credit risk and accurate invoicing.
- Lead interactions with internal/external auditors on Revenue, A/R, Inventory, and PP&E.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls across Revenue, A/R, Inventory, and PP&E transactions.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA designation.
- 7+ years progressive accounting experience.
- 5+ years progressive management/people leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership of the Accounts Receivable function (invoicing, collections, month-end reconciliations).
- Strong technical accounting (IFRS); working knowledge of IAS 2 (Inventory), IFRS 15 (Revenue), IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments).
- Bilingual (EN/FR) at advanced level.
- Enhanced Reliability clearance (or eligibility).
- Inventory valuation experience.
- Experience leading small teams (2–3+).
- Excellent written/oral communication; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel/Word/PowerPoint; working knowledge of accounting/reporting systems.
