The Ideal Candidate

You are a strategic and independent finance leader with a track record of building and optimizing financial systems for efficiency and scalability. You are a clear communicator who values transparency and collaboration. Success in this role will require a highly independent leader with a deep understanding of accounting best practices. You can identify problems, find solutions, and implement. The ideal candidate will feel at home in a multi-site, multi-sector, and international operations context.

Qualifications and Experience:

While the Search Committee recognizes that no one candidate is likely to meet all qualifications in equal measure, those listed below are desirable and will be used to compare candidates.

  • Ten years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 2+ years in a senior leadership role. A proven track record of leadership in financial management, reporting, and planning.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting best practices and software.
  • Experience in an international operations context is considered an asset.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Process Implementation: Skilled in setting up financial systems, templates, and best practices in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem Solving: Able to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement them independently.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Capable of supervising and developing a small team while fostering collaboration. Excellent communicator and trust-builder with cross-functional influence.
