About PortLink
PortLink, part of Wärtsilä, provides advanced modular software solutions for the maritime industry, including Port Management Information Systems (PMIS), Vessel Traffic Management Information Systems (VTMIS), and Port Community Systems (PCS). These systems help global clients enhance operational efficiency, safety, and coordination across port and vessel operations.
What You Will Be Doing
You will be part of a global team developing innovative software solutions for port management and maritime logistics. Reporting to the Agile Team Lead, you will contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, cloud-ready systems that support complex operational needs in the maritime industry.
This is a temporary position with a 12-month contract, based in Vancouver (353 Water Street). The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring four days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
Successful applicants must be authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
For applicants that reside in BC, the annual salary wage range is $ 80,000 CAD - $ 120,000 CAD. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education, individual skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration of internal equity.

- Design and develop software solutions tailored to port management operations.
- Contribute to the design of microservices-based software architecture.
- Develop deployment strategies for containerised applications across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Research emerging technologies and industry trends, presenting cost-benefit proposals to decision-makers.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams using SCRUM methodologies to deliver agile solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, preferably with C#, SQL, and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as LINQ, .NET, and Angular.
- Proficiency with Git version control.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain abstract concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in the maritime industry, particularly in port operations or maritime logistics, would be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics industry practices is also advantageous.
- Experience designing and configuring solutions for both on-premises and Azure cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure setup, networking configurations, security protocols, and deployment strategies.
