Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager leads, directs and coordinates the daily management of the assigned project. This leadership position is accountable for the overall performance of the project including costs, schedule, quality, project status, and adherence to company policies and procedures. More importantly, the Project Manager will manage a successful team and help develop future construction professionals.

What You'll Be Working On

Leadership

  • Promote the best interest of the company.
  • Conduct performance plans and assessments with direct reports.
  • Maintain high level of morale among direct reports.
  • Act as coach and mentor to the employees that report to the Project Manager.


Project Management

  • Develop project plans in collaboration with stakeholders, including cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Oversee all pre-construction activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects.
  • Manage tendering and construction phases, ensuring coordination, adherence to specifications, and budget compliance.
  • Play a key role in project development activities to secure contracts.
  • Develop and execute project strategies to meet performance, schedule, and profitability targets.
  • Facilitate strategy sessions, project start-up meetings, engineering reviews, and constructability reviews.
  • Organize and direct preconstruction activities to add value for all stakeholders.
  • Assist in project estimation and cost planning, ensuring alignment with design intent and profitability targets.
  • Optimize resource allocation for safety, quality, and profitability.
  • Select and manage subcontractors, fostering positive relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and trades.
  • Negotiate and execute prime contracts, prioritizing safety, sustainability, collaboration, and integrity.
  • Manage project budgets and track progress, variances, and recovery efforts.
  • Proactively identify and address issues, mitigating potential cost overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Facilitate weekly resource schedule meetings and coordinate with relevant leads.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project administration, including change orders, document control, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project team members to optimize project delivery.


What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or relevant field experience is considered an asset.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in construction, preferably with a focus on Mechanical systems.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery in large-scale construction projects.
  • Deep expertise in improving project delivery processes and constructability practices.
  • Ability to ensure project profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence, mentor, and coach.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to building and retaining a strong team.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
