The Manager, Community Engagement will lead the planning, execution, and optimization of various promotions and member engagement activities to maximize community impact. They will ensure that messages across all channels are supportive and consistent with East Coast Credit Union’s brand and align to Community impact and Member Experience. As part of the Marketing and Communications team, the Manager, Community Impact will support the marketing team in enhancing the Credit Union’s profile and brand.

- Lead the development, implementation, and promotion of East Coast Credit Union’s (ECCU) Community Impact Plan.
- Coordinate efforts to maintain ECCU’s B Corp Certification, working with the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) team to support ongoing alignment with B Lab standards and ECCU’s ESG Framework.
- Maintain and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success and effectiveness of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.
- Lead the development and promotion of annual community impact activities outlined in the ESG Framework.
- Develop action plans to align the Community Impact Plan with those priorities.
- Represent ECCU at community events and as a key media spokesperson for community impact related interviews, press conferences, and public events.
- Develop and maintain media relationships; pitch community impact and ESG stories to media outlets.
- Report on media activity and outcomes to enhance community engagement, visibility, and thought leadership.
- Lead creation of communication materials including:
- Presentation materials, speeches, award submissions
- Web, social media, and multimedia content
- Feature articles, backgrounders, fact sheets, brochures
- Annual reports and storytelling pieces, including the annual sustainability report
- Manage the community section of the website, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Coordinate sponsorships, grant programs, and other CI-related communications.
- Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships that support ECCU’s mission and social purpose.
- Lead cross-department collaboration to support community initiatives at the branch level, including budget allocations and partnership assistance.
- Effectively lead, coach, and mentor direct reports.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented work environment through regular coaching and development opportunities.
- Successfully completed an Undergraduate Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, social sciences or related field.
- A minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience, preferably in a financial institution; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Strong relationship management, communication and project management skills, knowledge of current multi-media, digital and social media platforms, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Skilled in task prioritization and project management.
- Knowledgeable of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Familiar with multi-media tools (e.g., Canva, video editing software).
- Knowledgeable of website design and basic website maintenance.
