Role and Facility Information

Terrace is seeking a dedicated Family Physician with a focus on Obstetrics – Operative Delivery to join our collaborative and supportive medical community in a permanent position. This role is designed to provide coverage and support to the OBGYN department, and requires a physician with strong obstetrical skills, including experience in deliveries and operative obstetrics.
We are looking for a physician who is passionate about providing high-quality maternal and newborn care and is interested in building a long-term practice in our vibrant and welcoming community. We offer flexibility in FTE to support your professional and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive family medicine care with a focus on obstetrics, including operative deliveries.
Participate in a shared obstetrical call group, ensuring equitable coverage and continuity of care.
Collaborate closely with the OBGYN department and a multidisciplinary team including midwives, nurses, and specialists.
Engage in teaching opportunities with medical learners, if desired.
Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

You will join a team of family physicians and specialists serving the Northwest Regional population of 86,000 people. This position is compensated through an alternative payment program, offering the stability of a fixed salary.

Opened in November 2024, Ksyen Regional Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility offering:

42 Acute Care Beds
20-bed Psychiatry Unit
4 Surgical Suites (including dedicated Orthopedics OR)
6 ICU Beds (expandable to 8)
20-bed Emergency Department with 2 Trauma Bays
Large Ambulatory Care Unit
Community Cancer Clinic
Hemodialysis Unit
Pediatric Care Space
MRI, CT, and Nuclear Medicine Services

The hospital includes a Tier 3 neonatal intensive care unit and special care nursery, supporting antenatal and postnatal services, education, and parenting support. It is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program and UBC Family Medicine Residency Program.

Vacation Leave 6-8 weeks annually including CME May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 18.48% Retention Flat Fee $28,045 Relocation Funding Available $9000-15,000 Other Benefits/Incentives Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available. Relocation funding available: $15,000 if relocating from outside of Canada; $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if relocating within BC.
