Location: Kettering, OH | In-person role but a Hybrid model is available after 6 months.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:15am to 5:00pm
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE: At Alternate Solutions Health Network, we care for patients where they spend the majority of their time – in their homes. Today we care for patients who need skilled home care and hospice services. You won’t find our brand in many places because we partner with health systems, jointly running home health and hospice agencies that use their brand. This is part of our strategy. By being part of the health system team, we can ensure each patient has a well-coordinated care plan that remains consistent whether the patient is seeing their primary care physician, receiving treatment in a hospital, or under our care in the home.
As a Hospice Biller you are responsible for all collection aspects for assigned payors through collection efforts, correct eligibility and proper claim processing. Completing your job assignments timely and accurately affect patient satisfaction and quality outcomes.

Major Areas Of Responsibility
- Assist clients, their families and co-workers in understanding billing procedures and payment. Communicate with employees, clients, and vendors regarding services.
- Collect and follow up on accounts for payment in full, processes remittances for any full paid, partially paid or denied items. Send all electronic and paper claim resubmissions or correct claims.
- Make recommendations regarding difficult payors with regards to prompt payments and claims processing.
- Correct claims and rebill for payment.
- Follow all legal rules and regulations, and attends in-services, educational programs and meetings as necessary.
- Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude.
- Patience is a virtue when working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
- Attention to detail is critical, as is being observant and following directions.
- Problem solving and create solutions to drive to a course of action.
- High-School graduate or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
- At least one year of experience in the Health Care industry and experience in home care is desirable. Capable of all physical demands.
