Under the direction of the Office Manager, the Receptionist - Alberta operates a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls; directs callers and customers to appropriate personnel and completes a variety of administrative duties.
The hours of work for this role are 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Fridays.

Essential Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors and customers in a professional and friendly manner, including distribution and recording of visitor badges.
- Answer and direct phone calls using the switchboard; manage voicemail, call transfers and message forwarding.
- Handling incoming and outgoing couriers, document waybills and distribute contents to relevant departments.
- Manage a high volume of outgoing mail, including folding and stuffing into envelopes and processing through the mail machine.
- Assist cancellations by preparing refund cheques for mailing, including certificate comments.
- Arrange deliveries via scamper and coordinate special courier requests as needed.
- Replenish postage machine as needed via EFT request to accounting – tracking of same for reference.
- Support the Insurance claims division with outgoing benefit payments and physician fees.
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized and presentable.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Highschool diploma is required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Reception role, preferably in the insurance or banking industry.
- Fluent in English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is required.
- Fluent in French with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is an asset.
- Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required.
- Keyboarding 65+ words per minute.
