JOB DESCRIPTION
Make Your Mark While You Grow Your Career! We Are Currently Looking For a Passionate Engineer To Join Our Albian Mine Technical Team. The Team Consists Of The Following Areas
- Mine Planning – Develop, optimize, communicate and execute integrated mine plans on a short, mid, or long-range basis
- Mine Projects – Support infrastructure and mining projects such as water treatment, haul roads, river crossings, and creek diversions
- Mine Costing – Evaluate, develop, and execute mine budgets including forecasting and stewardship
- Mine Technology – Manage mine communications infrastructure and fleet management systems to optimize mine operations performance
- Job location: Albian Site - Fort McMurray, AB OR Calgary, AB
- Shift schedule:
- Albian: 7x7, 12-hour shift OR 4x3, 10-hour shift
- Calgary: 5x2, 8-hour shift
- Safety sensitive position: Yes
- Application deadline: Ongoing
- Develop and communicate detailed mine plans and schedules in support of the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of Albian oil sands
- Monitor the stewardship of mine plans and Canadian Natural’s regulatory reporting requirements of those plans
- Collaborate design work and project scopes with mine operations and technical teams to ensure optimized feasible mine plans
- Develop planning and execution packages for mining projects
- Responsible for maintaining and optimizing mining planning and budgeting models
- Mine performance reporting of key performance indicators
- Degree in Mining Engineering
- Registered with APEGA, or eligible to register
- 5+ years of open pit mining experience; previous experience in oil sands mining preferred
- Proven experience with mine design and scheduling software (e.g. Vulcan, Deswick, CAD)
- Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent without mine drive restrictions
