Description

The Sr. Business Systems Data Analyst is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing field support activities, conducting training, and leading application upgrades, optimizations, and integrations. The role involves managing, testing, and implementing system enhancements and utilities to ensure functionality prior to field deployment. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.

Technical / Business Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on industry-specific software, including TRUX, Tower, PCScale, cieTrade, and AMCS Platform. Provide full application support, including troubleshooting, user guidance, IT liaison support, and individualized or group training.
  • Interpret and analyze data to produce actionable insights.
  • Document business requirements for application functionality and improvements.
  • Apply basic knowledge of reporting tools that integrate with industry-specific systems.
  • Utilize SQL to map data, query databases, and troubleshoot field issues.
  • Lead data-related initiatives (e.g., data mapping, appends, and mass updates).
  • Conduct user training on supported applications.
  • Test and document system applications and updates.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • Associate degree accepted with relevant experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of IT experience, with a focus on enterprise application support.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the waste or recycling industry.
  • Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is an asset.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting methodologies and issue resolution.
  • Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation and user procedures.
  • Strong understanding of data quality standards and application system integrity.
  • Awareness of current technology trends in software applications.
  • Sound understanding of organizational goals and business objectives.

Pay range: $80,000 - $100,000
