Whats The Team Like

The facility maintenance team ensures the smooth operation of all indoor spaces at the busy 24/7 airport, keeping terminals, offices, and other buildings safe, functional, and well-maintained. They handle repairs, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to support airport operations and passenger comfort. Their work is critical to maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment for travelers and staff.

What Are Some Of The Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, analysis, and continuous improvement of electrical maintenance operations.
  • Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all airport electrical assets, ensuring compliance with CSA Z462 and Z463.
  • Oversee the electrical safety program, ensuring daily safe operation and regulatory compliance.
  • Use technical judgment and data analysis to assess asset health, identify trends, and drive reliability improvements.
  • Coordinate emergency response to outages and manage repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Provide technical leadership to technicians and contractors, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance management system team to track performance metrics and support asset management plans.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and procurement for critical electrical systems.

What Do You Need To Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or an Electrical Engineering/Power Systems Technologist or PSE certification. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in electrical maintenance planning, asset management, testing, and reliability analysis, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale electrical systems in critical infrastructure (airports, power plants, industrial plants, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, maintenance planning, reliability-centered maintenance, safety and regulatory standards (CSA Z462, Z463, NEC, NETA MTS).
  • Proven success in improving asset reliability and reducing lifecycle costs.
  • As this position is considered safety-sensitive, candidates must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.
  • This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract as part of the hiring process.

What Additional Skills Are An Asset

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or power systems engineering
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Experience with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in electrical systems.
