Introduction To Role
Are you ready to dive into the world of Human Biological Samples (HBS) and play a pivotal role in medical research? HBS are crucial for discovering, developing, and implementing new treatments and diagnostics. As ethically sensitive materials, their collection, handling, and access are governed by strict regulations and ethical guidelines. Join us in ensuring compliance across AstraZeneca R&D programs involving HBS.
Accountabilities
As an HBS Compliance Specialist, you'll manage technical aspects of global HBS projects, delivering compliance across AstraZeneca R&D. You'll maintain administrative control procedures to ensure standards are adhered to and quality programs are consistently applied. You'll support operational management with compliance queries and ensure training is available locally. You'll act independently or with minimal supervision to deliver high-quality project outputs, including reviewing informed consent forms, contracts, and ethics in studies. Strong IT skills are essential for managing large data sets.

Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree level education or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and understanding of compliance function, health care regulations, laws and standards related to HBS
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrable team working skills
- Ability to work independently
- High ethical standards, trustworthy, operating with absolute discretion
- Knowledge and understanding of compliance function, health care regulations, laws, and standards
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders
- Hands-on experience in collection, management and use of HBS
- Experience in review/interpretation of informed consent forms
- Experience in pharmaceuticals or a related industry
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Project management experience and skills
