Counsellor (0.574 FTE) (PNE) - Temporary at Elk Island Public Schools

EIPS is recruiting a part-time (0.574 FTE) School Counsellor at Pine Street Elementary.
Pine Street Elementary serves approximately 370 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 20 teaching staff and 26 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.
Pine Street Elementary strives to provide a safe and caring school community built upon meaningful relationships. The school is committed to providing quality learning opportunities where students achieve academic excellence as self-directed, lifelong learners and develop into responsible global citizens. Pine Street Elementary is also a designated Play And Learn at School (PALS) pre-kindergarten site within the Division.

A master's degree in counselling and registered or provisional psychologist status is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants presently working on a master's in this area. A minimum of five years of teaching experience, education in psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment Training (VTRA) would be considered an asset.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
