The Opportunity
Keyano College’s Recruitment & Student Life Department is currently seeking a Student Recruitment Coordinator to join our dynamic team.The Student Recruitment Coordinator will serve as the College’s ambassador, representing Keyano College in the community, at career and education fairs, and in high schools throughout Wood Buffalo region and beyond. (out of town travel, and occasional working during the weekends is required) The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the recruitment of international students by liaising with recruitment agents and applicants. In addition to student recruitment, this position may also be required to advise potential and current students, acting as a Student Advisor and working closely with the Office of the Registrar to assess individual’s needs, goals, interests and prior academic/non-academic experiences to effectively broaden the student’s ability to successfully design and implement an individualized educational plan.
Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

- Effectively market Keyano College to prospective students through the execution of recruitment initiatives directed at various target groups, which involves local, provincial and some inter-provincial travel.
- Maintaining a positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude regarding Keyano’s program offerings and student potential.
- Maintaining regular visits, presentations and info sessions to local High Schools. This involves building strong working relationships with High School personnel.
- Maintaining an active membership, involvement and communication with Education Liaison Association of Alberta (ELAA) and their recruitment initiatives
- Provide students with information and advice on College programs and courses, application and admission processes, deadlines, student awards, loans and other college services available to students to achieve academic and personal success
- Research and maintain knowledge on prerequisites and specific program requirements for Keyano programs and any applicable transferring institution/program.
- Supporting the development of responsive recruitment and marketing activities geared toward international students.
- Provide comprehensive advising and support to international students and applicants, including guidance on admissions requirements.
- Support with student enrollment when required, which may include following up on leads and contacting applicants to assist them through various stages of the Admissions process
- Assist with Student Life initiatives, including participating in the delivery of transition, orientation and student life activities, developing appropriate student recognition events, and assisting in the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers for events
- Work cooperatively with other units and departments including, but not limited to, Academic Experience, the Office of the Registrar, Institutional Research and Marketing and Communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preference will be given to degrees with a Communications/Marketing background)
- A minimum of two years of related experience in a student services or student recruitment environment
- Strong advisory/assessment skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with post-secondary education programs and entrance requirements
Please note that if your education was received internationally, upon hire we will require you to provide an international education assessment completed through WES, IQAS or one of the other IRCC approved designated organization.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation is $69,547.17 (CUPE IS7) with the following health and benefit package.
- Employer paid comprehensive health and dental benefits, including a health spending account.
- Generous defined benefit pension plan though LAPP starting on day 1 of employment.
- This position qualifies for additional payment of the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month.
- Generous vacation entitlement and the bonus of paid holidays between Christmas and New Years
- Life insurance is 2.5 times your annual salary
