Position Title School Program Growth and Quality Manager
Position Summary Are you passionate about educational excellence and innovation? Join Red Deer Polytechnic’s School of Health and Wellness as the School Program Growth and Quality Manager.

The School of Health and Wellness houses a mix of 14 industry-relevant programs, with current enrollment of more than 1000 students. In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the forefront of expanding and enhancing RDP’s programs, contributing to workforce growth in the health sector across Alberta and Canada through providing high-quality education and training for skilled graduates in diverse roles
Position Responsibilities The School Program Growth and Quality Manager leads curriculum development and program quality review within RDP’s School of Health and Wellness, ensuring alignment with the Polytechnic’s Strategic Plan 2030: Productivity & Social Impact, as well as the needs of learners and industry.

This role includes the skillful implementation of the following:

Environmental Scans and Consultations:
  • Complete scans and consultations with external stakeholders to identify new program opportunities.
Program Development:
  • Facilitate program development with key stakeholders such as academic leadership and colleagues in RDP’s Centre for Teaching, Learning and Scholarship.
  • Manage projects for new and re-imagined programming by leading a project team including faculty, a supervising consultant and directing dayto-day operations.
Market Research and Proposals:
  • Conduct market research on student and workforce demand (provincially, nationally and internationally).
  • Prepare program proposal budgets.
  • Submit proposals for approvals by institution and Alberta’s Ministry of Advanced Education.
Curriculum Development and Review:
  • Promote learner-centered delivery models.
  • Resolve issues related to learner success, in collaboration with school leadership.
  • In collaboration with Associate Deans, faculty and colleagues in RDP’s Centre for Teaching, Learning and Scholarship, regularly assess curriculum to ensure fulsome program review and alignment with regulatory body requirements.

A successful applicant for the School Program Growth and Quality Manager role, within RDP’s School of Health and Wellness, needs strong leadership skills to manage diverse project teams, excellent communication abilities for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and writing proposals, and robust analytical thinking for conducting environmental scans and market research. The incumbent will promote learner-centered curriculum models with an innovative mindset, and champion diversity, equity and inclusivity. Additionally, the incumbent will effectively address challenges related to program development and learner success with strong problem-solving abilities.

Required Qualifications Education:
  • Graduate degree from a recognized institution in a discipline related to program or curriculum development.


Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in post-secondary curriculum design and/or program development which includes:
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the pedagogy of post-secondary education.
  • Proven success in developing, implementing and assessing curriculum and educational programs.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in preparing proposals for grants, funding agency support or government approval.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • An inclusive leadership style.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering the principles of learner-centeredness.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity with capacity to manage change and a demonstrated ability to drive innovation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications Experience:
Relevant industry experience and/or education in discipline area
  • Progressive academic leadership experience involving direct supervision of post-secondary faculty members (including recruitment and selection; development and coaching; performance assessment and management).
  • Demonstrated understanding of health care simulation and experience in supporting simulation learning environments.

Salary This role has a salary range of $101,408 - $123,262 and is an Exempt Management role

This role is eligible to receive professional development funds equivalent to 3 per cent of their annual salary, pro-rated to their start date. The successful candidate will also be eligible to apply for reimbursement to pursue the completion of advanced credentials
