Land Coordinator at The City of Red Deer
                                                The Opportunity:
To lead and coordinate the administration and real estate operations of the Land Section. Provides support to the Land Bank; negotiates the acquisition, lease and sale of land; review land appraisals; oversees residential subdivision development and other land development projects; coordinates legal surveys, easements and utility rights-of-way; and maintains accurate land files, legal titles, inventories and land values.
As our preferred candidate, you will have:
- Graduation from University with a post-secondary degree in Business/Finance or related development degrees in Economics or Engineering. Additional Certification in AACI, SR/WA, applied land use planning and environmental assessment is considered an asset.
 - Five plus years related training and experience with the demonstrated ability in supervision, project management, residential, industrial and/or commercial subdivision development, assessment or land appraisal techniques, negotiating, land administration, urban land planning, basic accounting and finance, computer applications and file/records management procedures.
 - Ability to communicate at a semi-technical and professional level with businessmen, elected officials and public, to withstand stress situations, influence positive outcomes through negotiations, and to respond courteously to complaints.
 - Ability to work independently and with a minimum amount of supervision to effectively assess and manage complex tasks and projects, present alternative solutions and achieve objectives in a timely manner, with significant consequence for error.
 - Demonstrated ability to coordinate, guide or manage others and co-workers in carrying out interdependent duties.
 - Ability to complete upgrading or refresher courses in property appraisal, development practices, construction and building technology, and economic development as required.
 - Considerable knowledge of real estate and legal documentation pertaining to the land transactions, land development, legal titles and valuation work.
 - Hold a valid Alberta Driver’s License.

Remuneration:
$56.84 to $59.83 per hour.
Hours of Work:
75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
