                            To work as part of the MEMS Brownfield Assessment and Development (BAD) team in completing assessment, remediation and contaminant hydrogeology projects for clients in Canada. This position is full time and requires a combination of office and fieldwork.

                    Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in planning and implementing field programs, evaluating collected information; preparing professional reports, and ensuring quality assurance and quality control.
 - Field programs can include, but not limited to, vegetation monitoring and maintenance, Phase 1 ESA site visits, Phase 2 ESAs, assisting in detailed site assessments and in pre-reclamation assessments.
 - Undertaking groundwater monitoring and sampling for various facilities.
 - Completing file reviews and reporting of Environmental Site Assessments, including but not limited to Phase 1 and 2 ESA reports, remediation reports, detailed site assessment reports and reclamation certificate application compilation.
 - Development of cost estimates based on project requirements and client needs.
 - File compilation, organization of field data, interpretation of laboratory results.
 - Participating in technical and safety programs quality assurance and quality control.
 - Working with contractors to execute Phase 2 ESAs, remediation and reclamation projects.
 - Provide support to the Human Health risk assessment team, and
 - Other duties as assigned. 
 
- Directly applicable post-secondary education /Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
 - Experience in assessment and remediation through one to two (1-2) years of experience, preferably in the environmental consulting industry.
 - Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization is required.
 - Must be able to meet the requirements of site access as dictated by our clients; this may include pre-access drug, alcohol and fitness testing, and
 - Possess a valid, non-GDL Class 5 Drivers license.
 
- Understanding of the environmental site assessment process including applying risk-based approaches.
 - Knowledge of environmental industry’s best practices.
 - Understanding of the Alberta Tier 1 and Tier 2 guideline documents and/or equivalent documents from other jurisdictions as required.
 - Understanding of the oil & gas industry.
 - Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite.
 - Be able to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting.
 - Ability to work either independently or as a part of a team interacting with other team members and contractors.
 - Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
 - Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
 - Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; and
 - excellent safety attitude. 
 
- This individual should expect to spend some of their work time at client sites, each trip lasting anywhere from 1 to 10 days. This individual may conduct assessments at industrial or commercial facilities, brownfield sites and/or greenfield sites in varying locations (remote to urban). In some cases, the field work may include carrying sampling equipment;
 - Office environment that requires sitting for extended periods of time, as well as fieldwork.
 - Prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and computer screens.
 - Manual dexterity required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
 - Sometimes requires long hours of work. Occasional interruptions outside work hours and travel to other locations are required.
 - Ability to work varying shifts, including the occasional evening and night; and
 - Required to walk, stand, climb, bend forward, kneel, crawl, reach and grasp, push and pull objects, lift and/or move up to 30 kg, sometimes over the shoulders, repetitive bending and lifting of items, along with repetitive arm movements.
