Position Details The School of Liberal Education is hiring two Graduate Assistant – Teaching positions for the Winter 2025 term to support the teaching of Liberal Education 1000. These assistantships will be teaching intensive and student-facing.

Duties will include a combination of preparing and delivering lectures, teaching laboratory sections, and leading class discussions. Total hours will be 56 hours for the term. The successful candidates must be available for the scheduled class time of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 1300-1350 and/or for the lab times of Thursday 900 to 1050 and 1200 to 1250.

Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Lethbridge in Fall of 2025 and must be available to attend class or lab sections at the times indicated in the position description. The successful candidate will have the following skills:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable with speaking in front of groups of people.
  • Understanding of challenges faced by diverse first year students attending the University of Lethbridge.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to articulate the principles of liberal education.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Comfort with examining and discussing challenging social, political, cultural, and academic issues.
  • Comfortable with managing diverse educational needs among groups of people.
  • People management and conflict resolution skills would be an asset.
