Description:
As an Electrician you will work in accordance with the accepted codes, standards, regulations and procedures. Under minimal supervision, the electrician performs a variety of highly skilled electrical maintenance and repairs of a complex nature requiring use of schematics, blue prints and specialized test equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Electrician Certificate with Red Seal from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Well-informed with completing preventive maintenance and use of digital maintenance programs including checking & recording new equipment. Experience maintaining, commissioning, installation, monitoring, trouble shooting, analyzing performance, and repairing all electrical equipment and systems including but not limited to: Power Distribution Systems such as electrical panels, transformers, switchgear, VFD’s, circuit breakers, ACBs, breakers control systems, and high/low voltage. Backup Power Systems: such as generators and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, to ensure critical areas remain operational during power outages. Electricians maintain and test these systems to ensure they are ready to provide power when needed. Lighting Systems, including both interior and exterior lighting. This includes fluorescent lights, LED lights, emergency lighting, lighting control and specialized lighting for surgical rooms and critical care areas. Fire Alarm Systems: installation, maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems in the hospital. This includes smoke detectors, heat detectors, sprinkler systems, and notification devices to ensure early. detection and response to fires. Food service & housekeeping equipment, HVAC equipment, communication systems and others as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master Electrician certificate. Experience with pricing/estimating of materials and repairs, ordering materials & supplies, review & upgrade of electrical systems drawings, completing work orders and inspecting new construction and renovations projects. Demonstrates supervision and collaboration with other trades, contractors, consultants and engineers. Valid First aid, Valid Fit testing certificate, Valid Fall arrest and aerial platform training would be an asset. Basic computer skills.
