What You'll Do
- Analyze business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement, increased efficiency, and enhanced business performance.
- Work with departments across the organization to elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements that support data-driven process enhancements.
- Implement, improve, and maintain business processes, ensuring alignment with operational needs and future-state objectives.
- Develop data analytics solutions, including predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive tools, to support business decision-making.
- Design, maintain, and enhance data visualization tools, dashboards, and reports that support effective data storytelling and insight generation.
- Proactively analyze internal and external data to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations to stakeholders.
- Work with the Business Innovation Lead on the definition of data infrastructure requirements to ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and system/data integrity across platforms.
- Support protocols for data handling, processing, quality control, and continuous improvement in data management practices.
- Work alongside multiple teams to translate business needs into data analysis solutions.
- Build and maintain reporting tools, ensuring decision makers have timely access to accurate and relevant business information.
- Contribute to key operational activities, including scheduling, planning, and business process optimization.
- Collaborate with the Business Innovation Lead on innovation initiatives. This position will work in close collaboration and with guidance from the Business Innovation Lead.
- Works with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to identify and define business operations requirements and systems goals related to existing and new business systems.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of business applications by conducting gap analyses, documenting current and future-state processes, and developing documentation and training materials to enable effective solution adoption and continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields of computer science, business administration, applied mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
- 2 - 5 years of experience with data analysis, system analysis, and business process analysis (multi-stakeholder environment with different business units preferred).
- Experience in the development of business requirements, functional requirements, technical requirements, process flows, gap analyses, and use cases. Formal methodology training in these areas is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process and performance improvement opportunities.
- Skilled in data analysis and modelling, including use of statistical and predictive techniques to support business decision-making.
- Proficient with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI).
- Experienced with SQL and Python.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences and build positive cross-functional relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of data privacy, security standards, and sound ethical judgment in handling confidential information.
- Ability to create effective documentation, training materials, and user-friendly guidance to support solution adoption.
- Customer-focused, collaborative, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and growth.
- Understanding of project management and continuous improvement/lean methodologies is an asset.
- Knowledge of marine transportation or logistics is an asset.
- This is a full-time, permanent position.
