Your future role
Take on a new challenge and leverage your expertise in mechanical engineering and leadership in a cutting-edge field. As a Domain Leader, you play a key role in managing and developing the Transversal Disciplines team while ensuring the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Technical Reference Framework.
You have general knowledge of train mechanical architecture, interface management, crash analysis, mechanical integration, systems engineering, materials, and project management (quality, cost, time) and are recognized for your engaging leadership qualities—you are our ideal candidate.
This position based at our Kingston, Ontario site is a permanent full-time role (40 hours/week) - Ability to work in an international, multi-site, and matrix organization. Hybrid work environment – 3 days on-site. Occasional travel (QC, US).
We’ll look to you for:
Ensuring understanding and application of TD rules, processes, and tools for the Mechanical Integration domain
Fostering effective collaboration with other domains within TD
Allocating adequate resources to projects/programs/tenders
Managing the development of the Mechanical Integration team to ensure capacity, workload, and skills alignment
Forecasting workload and identifying necessary resources to secure QCD commitments
Defining and implementing mitigation plans for identified risks
Supporting the team in resolving issues and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Reporting on activities and alerting relevant stakeholders to potential challenges
Validating technical documents such as 3D models and 2D assembly drawings

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master of Science preferred)
7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering applied to structural systems
Detailed knowledge of structural design, calculation, and special processes
General knowledge of train mechanical architecture, interface management, crash, mechanical integration, system engineering, materials, and project management (quality, cost, delay)
Proficiency in MS Office tools
Fluency in French and English. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset when working with international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Conflict resolution and customer satisfaction orientation
Organized, rigorous, and adaptable with a hands-on approach
Resilient and able to lead a team effectively
