Job Description:
As a key member of the Production Control team, the Production Control Support is responsible for back-up material handler and production control support duties such as unloading product deliveries, supporting production requirements, maintaining stock, updating inventory, moving stock and other materials to fulfill orders, staging orders as well as tracking consumables.
Available Shift:Weekend 2nd Shift (Friday to Sunday 6:00pm - 6:00am)
- The successful candidate must be able to work on the Weekday 1st shift (Monday to Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm) for training until the Weekend 2nd shift is operational.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Move freight and stock to and from loading area, production lines, delivery vehicles, storage areas and production areas either manually or using equipment such as forklifts and cranes
- Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading and securing product
- Receiving coil into the system
- Tracking consumables
- Updating inventory
- Document product shipments
- Maintain material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repairs when needed
- Utilize assisted and protected devices
- Operate machinery such as booms, cranes, and forklifts to handle and stock
- Support company health and safety policies
- Other duties, as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and/or demonstrated work experience/internal training/testing
- Understanding and experience with deliveries and shipments within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multi-task
- Demonstrated flexibility within a fast paced environment
- Ability to take initiative and recognize needs
- Superior attention to detail in all areas of work
- Professional appearance and manners
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and ERP Systems
- Previous experience with Plex considered an asset
- Experience with overhead crane and/or forklift considered an asset
- Must be flexible and able to work any shift
