Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:

S2526-35 Educational Assistant - North Star Elementary School

We are seeking a part-time (0.50 FTE) Educational Assistant to commence as soon as possible and for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behavior skills, self-help. Training in speech, language and numeracy strategies will be a definite asset.

North Star Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 430 students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. Preference will be give to who have:

• Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
• Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
• Experience working one-on-one and/or in a classroom setting
• Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
• Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans
• Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies

Training and skills that would be an asset include:

• Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation
• SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
